Remote Support

The Remote Support feature allows the Sixfab team to securely access your device for troubleshooting. Access must be explicitly granted by the device owner and cannot be enabled by Sixfab staff.

ActionDescription
Enable AccessGenerates and shares a remote support token with the Sixfab support team. Access remains valid for 10 days from the time it is enabled.
Disable Support TokenImmediately revokes the support token, ending all remote access. The owner can revoke access at any time before the 10-day period expires.
ℹ️
Owner-Controlled Access Remote support access is always initiated by the device owner from the Asset Detail page. Sixfab staff cannot enable remote access on your behalf. Once enabled, authorized staff can connect through the platform backoffice until the permission expires or is manually revoked.

Container TerminalAccess a running container's terminal via Application → Containers → Actions.
🔐
Authentication A terminal session is opened when either a valid access code (TOTP derived from the device token) is provided, or the requester has a valid session with the required permissions. Requests that meet neither condition are rejected.

Device Maintenance

ActionDescription
Device VersionDisplays the version of the software bundle currently installed on the device.
Update DeviceUpdates the ALPON software to the latest available bundle version. The Update button appears automatically when the device is running an outdated version.
Reboot DeviceReboots the device remotely via the platform.
ℹ️
How Updates Work The Sixfab Embedded Software team publishes update bundles through the platform. When a newer bundle is available, the Update button appears on the Asset Detail page. Updates are applied asynchronously — progress is streamed to the UI in real time and the platform tracks completion status automatically.

Device Location

Track the physical location of your ALPON device through the Sixfab Connect platform. This feature allows you to monitor where your devices are, ensuring they are in the correct locations. The location data is sent every 12 hours.

Device Location map view
ℹ️
Location Accuracy The map shows the device's location based on its GPS signal. If the GPS signal is weak or unavailable, the location is estimated using nearby cell towers, which may not always provide an accurate result. In areas with fewer or more distant towers, the estimated location could be further from the device's actual position. Please use this information as a general guide rather than an exact location.
