Q What AI accelerator does the X5 AI use?

The ALPON X5 AI is equipped with the DEEPX DX-M1 Ultra, an M.2 2280 form factor NPU delivering 25 TOPS of AI performance. It has 4 GB of dedicated on-chip memory that does not share the system's RAM.

Q Are there sleep modes or power-saving configurations?

No, there are no sleep modes or power-saving configurations.

Q Can the NPU run multiple AI models at the same time?

Yes. The DEEPX DX-M1 supports concurrent execution of multiple models, managed by the DEEPX Runtime.

Q Does the device have a SIM card slot?

The device uses an embedded eSIM (eUICC, SGP.22 compatible) rather than a physical SIM card slot. eSIM profiles can be managed remotely through the ALPON Cloud platform.

Q Does the product work in a metal box?

If placing the device inside a metal panel, remember to connect the earth pin to the panel's ground connection. Inside a metal panel, built-in antennas won't work; so it should be used with an external combo antenna. Don't forget to extend them outside. These antennas are suitable for normal use cases.

Q What operating system does the X5 AI run?

The device currently ships with PiGen X5, a customized OS based on Raspberry Pi's Debian Trixie image, optimized for the CM5 and pre-configured with Sixfab platform services.

ℹ️ A future Yocto-based image is planned, which will offer a more hardened and minimal OS environment.
