What is the ALPON X4?

ALPON X4 is Sixfab's industrial edge IoT computer for production gateway and telemetry deployments. Built on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 at 1.5 GHz) with up to 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage. It ships with always-online connectivity (1 Gbps + 100 Mbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE Cat 4 with eSIM, Bluetooth 5.0), hardware root of trust via TPM 2.0, a hardware watchdog, and a 10-year RTC battery. The fanless aluminum enclosure operates from -20 °C to +60 °C at IP40 and is managed centrally through ALPON Cloud. Built on Raspberry Pi.

Key capabilities

What separates ALPON X4 from a generic single-board computer or IoT gateway: cellular connectivity, hardware root of trust, and fleet management are included by default — not sold as add-ons.

01 Compute Module 4 host

Built on the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4: a Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core Cortex-A72 at 1.5 GHz, with up to 8 GB LPDDR4 SDRAM and 32 GB eMMC storage. Native compatibility with the Raspberry Pi ecosystem, Debian-based ALPON X4 OS, and the standard ARM64 Linux toolchain.

02 Multi-network with auto failover

Global LTE Cat 4 with eSIM (eUICC SGP.22), dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (2.4 / 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 / BLE, and two Ethernet ports (1× Gigabit, 1× 100 Mbps). The network manager fails over to a backup link in under a minute, keeping the device reachable when any single uplink degrades. Integrated GNSS/GPS for asset tracking.

03 Hardware root of trust

Onboard TPM 2.0 module for secure key storage, device certificates, and measured boot. Device-to-cloud traffic is double-encrypted, and remote access happens through a VPN tunnel managed by ALPON Cloud — anchoring the chain of trust from hardware to fleet.

04 Field-grade reliability

A hardware watchdog auto-recovers the system from lockups. A CR1220-backed RTC keeps accurate time for up to 10 years without external power. MTBF exceeds 13 years at 25 °C (Telcordia SR-332). Fanless aluminum enclosure rated IP40 — designed for unattended deployments.

05 Container-native deployment

Push ARM64 Docker workloads to a single device or your entire fleet from ALPON Cloud. Version control, safe rollback, and staged rollouts follow modern CI/CD patterns — no physical access required, and no special build pipeline beyond standard ARM64 container images.

06 Managed by ALPON Cloud

Zero-touch onboarding, fleet inventory, real-time monitoring, OTA firmware and OS updates, container deployment, and remote terminal access — all in one console. The same platform manages ALPON X4 and ALPON X5 AI fleets side by side.
